Invisalign and Clear Aligners

Invisalign straightens teeth with a series of removable clear aligners. Because orthodontic treatment takes months and needs regular reviews, it is best suited to residents of Korea or patients who can plan return visits — it is not a short-stay treatment.

Who is this treatment for?

  • Crowded or spaced teeth
  • Mild to moderate bite problems
  • Adults who want a discreet alternative to braces
  • Residents of Korea who can attend regular reviews

At Oaks Dental Clinic

Digital impressions are taken with an intraoral scanner and a digital simulation shows the planned result before treatment starts. Dr. Bae plans the treatment together with the clinic’s orthodontic team. Conventional braces are also available.

Wearing your aligners

Aligners move teeth as planned only when worn for 20–22 hours a day — removed for meals and brushing, then put straight back. Each set is replaced in stages; clean them with lukewarm water and store them so they do not warp.

Fewer visits than braces

Because aligners are removable, brushing and flossing are easier, there are almost no food restrictions, and review visits are less frequent than with fixed braces. New aligners can feel tight for a few days.

SureSmile

SureSmile clear aligners are also available — the same staged-aligner concept from a different manufacturer, with a trimmed appliance design.

Fixed braces

For complex bite problems, fixed braces may be more suitable: metal, ceramic or lingual (inside) brackets. Reviews are every 4–6 weeks, active treatment commonly takes 18–30 months depending on the case, and retainers are worn afterwards to keep the result.

Visits and timing for visitors

Orthodontic treatment takes months. We do not recommend starting it during a short visit to Seoul; residents and patients who can return for reviews are suitable candidates. A personalised plan is provided after examination.

The number of visits and treatment duration depend on your diagnosis. A personalized treatment plan will be provided after examination.

Before you travel

Send your panoramic x-ray, ct scan, photos of your teeth, existing treatment plan or medical records by email or WhatsApp. The preliminary review is free, and we reply with whether treatment is likely to be possible, the expected number of visits, an estimated cost range and available dates. A preliminary review is not a final diagnosis.

Costs

Your cost depends on the number of teeth, complexity, materials and laboratory work, and is confirmed in a written estimate (Korean won, VAT included) before treatment begins. How costs are decided →

Aftercare and warranty

Orthodontic appliances are covered for 1 year. You leave with written aftercare instructions in English, and online consultation after you return home is always available. Aftercare and warranty →
