Treatment Planning for Visitors

Tell us your travel dates and send your X-rays or CT before you fly. We review them free of charge, tell you what is realistic during your stay and propose a visit schedule. Whether treatment can be completed during your visit is confirmed after examination.

Digital Diagnosis and In-House Laboratory

  • 3D CT (cone-beam CT) — Lets us see bone, nerves and roots in three dimensions before implant and surgical treatment.
  • Digital panoramic X-ray — A full overview of your teeth and jaws on your first visit — and shareable with your dentist at home.
  • Intraoral scanner — Digital impressions instead of impression trays — faster, more comfortable and ready for CAD/CAM design.
  • Dental operating microscope — Magnification for precise root canal, restorative and surgical work.
  • CAD/CAM and 3D printer — Crowns, veneers and other restorations are designed digitally and produced in-house.
  • Painless anaesthesia equipment — Computer-controlled anaesthetic delivery to reduce discomfort during injections.

Oaks Dental Clinic has its own dental laboratory (milling units: MC XC, MC X5 and Lilivis). All restorations except dentures and orthodontic appliances are made in-house, which shortens fabrication time — an advantage when your stay in Seoul is short.

Overseas Follow-up Support

You leave with written aftercare instructions in English and, on request, English treatment records covering the treatment performed, tooth numbers, implant brand and specifications, materials, medication, imaging and your future plan. Online consultation after you return home is always available by email, WhatsApp or WeChat.

Dental Treatments for International Patients

Short-term visitors

Planning Dental Treatment During Your Stay in Seoul

Examples of what is often possible, based on how long you will be in Seoul.

1 – 2 days in Seoul

  • Check-up and consultation
  • Digital X-ray / 3D CT
  • Professional cleaning (scaling)
  • Teeth whitening
  • Porcelain veneers (in-house laboratory)
  • Same-day emergency treatment

Veneers are possible in 1–2 days, but for cosmetic work we recommend allowing about 7 days so there is time for adjustments.

3 – 7 days in Seoul

  • Dental implant surgery (placement stage)
  • Porcelain crowns
  • Tooth extraction, including wisdom teeth
  • Veneers and cosmetic crowns with time for adjustments

Implants usually need a second visit for the final crown after healing. We recommend about 7 days for cosmetic treatments such as veneers and crowns.

1 – 2 weeks in Seoul

  • Root canal treatment
  • Zirconia crowns
  • Combinations of the treatments above

Dentures and orthodontic treatment (braces or clear aligners) are not suited to short stays — they are best for residents of Korea or patients who can plan return visits.

These are general examples. What is actually possible depends on your oral condition, inflammation, bone condition and laboratory schedule, and is confirmed after examination.

Process

How It Works

From your first message to your follow-up after you return home.

  1. Contact us before you travel

Tell us the treatment you are interested in, your current symptoms, how long you will be in Seoul and your preferred dates. If you have X-rays, CT scans, photos or previous records, send them by email or WhatsApp.

  2. Free preliminary review

Dr. Bae reviews your information and our team replies with a first indication of whether treatment is possible, which tests are needed, the expected visit schedule and available appointment times. A preliminary review is not a final diagnosis — that is made after examination at the clinic.

  3. First visit in Seoul

Medical history interview, oral examination, X-ray or CT, consultation with the dentist, explanation of your treatment plan and a written cost estimate. Your visit schedule is confirmed at this stage.

  4. Treatment

Treatment follows the plan you agreed to. If anything needs to change, we explain it first and proceed only with your consent. Everything is recorded in your file.

  5. Before you fly home

We check your treatment results, give you written aftercare instructions in English, provide your English treatment records on request, explain any follow-up you will need and show you how to reach us online after you return.

Appointment confirmation

Submitting a request does not confirm an appointment. The clinic confirms it after review:

  1. Enquiry received
  2. Review of your records
  3. Your details collected
  4. Dates proposed
  5. You confirm
  6. Appointment confirmed by the clinic

You will receive a message saying “Appointment Confirmed” once the clinic has confirmed your date.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the dentists speak English?

Consultations are coordinated by our English-speaking patient team, and an interpreter is with you throughout your visit. Dr. Chulmin Bae also communicates in English and Chinese. Diagnosis, treatment plans, costs, consent forms and aftercare instructions are all explained in English.

Can I receive treatment during a short stay in Seoul?

Yes, many treatments can be completed during a short visit. As a guide: 1–2 days for check-ups, cleaning, whitening and veneers; 3–7 days for implant surgery, porcelain crowns and extractions; 1–2 weeks for root canal treatment and zirconia crowns. Dentures and orthodontic treatment are not suited to short stays. For cosmetic work we recommend allowing about 7 days. The exact schedule depends on your diagnosis.

Can I send my X-rays before visiting?

Yes. Send your panoramic X-ray, CT scan, photos of your teeth, existing treatment plan, English medical records, blood test results or medication list by email or WhatsApp. The preliminary review is free, and we reply with whether treatment is likely to be possible, the expected number of visits and duration, an estimated cost range, the tests you will need and available dates. A preliminary review is not a final diagnosis.

Can a dental implant be completed in one trip?

We aim to complete as much as possible in a single trip, but implants need healing time before the final crown is fitted, so most patients return for a second visit. Whether the surgical stage fits your trip depends on your bone condition and whether bone grafting is needed. Implant patients also need to return for regular check-ups, which is a condition of the implant warranty. After reviewing your X-ray or CT we will tell you what is realistic during your stay.

Do you provide emergency dental treatment?

Yes. Same-day emergency treatment is available during clinic hours for severe toothache, broken teeth, lost crowns or temporary teeth, implant prosthesis problems, gum swelling, wisdom tooth pain, bleeding and dental injuries. No prior appointment procedure is required, but calling ahead helps us prepare. We are not a 24-hour service and cannot provide emergency care at night, on Sundays or on public holidays.

Do you accept international insurance?

We do not bill international insurers directly. We provide all the documents you need to claim reimbursement from your insurer: an English diagnosis certificate, English receipts, an itemised statement, your treatment plan, imaging and treatment records.

Is my online appointment immediately confirmed?

No. Submitting the form is an appointment request. The clinic reviews your information, collects any details still needed, proposes dates, and confirms the appointment after you accept — you will receive a message saying "Appointment Confirmed".

What happens if I have a problem after returning home?

Contact us by email, WhatsApp or WeChat — online consultation after you return home is always available. We will look at your description or photos and advise on the next steps. Implant and cavity treatments require follow-up visits, and warranty conditions apply; see our Aftercare and Warranty page.

Tell Us About Your Dental Needs

Send us the treatment you are interested in, your current symptoms and how long you will be in Seoul. We reply with available dates, what to prepare and what is realistic during your stay.
